“Mom, you
got a package from Amazon.” Living 45 minutes
from a book store takes the guilt away from buying online; I don’t really have
a local book store. What fun, to tear away the packing tape and
open the box! Feel the excitement of pulling off the packing material and finding
a book that’s never been opened.
But that’s
not the best part -- that happens tomorrow when I read a wonderful new book to
my students who’ve never held a new book of their own. We will share the joy of
something new for our room. We will wow over the cover in excitement. We make predictions, examine the
illustrations and fall in love with yet another book.
Now reading,
Demolition by Sally Sutton, Illustrated by Brian Lovelock.
There's nothing like the touch/smell of a new book. Love those packages in the mail or on the front step.
